Admission to Nursery

Mandy Robinson, Jenner Harvey and the team welcome children into Nursery in the school term following their third birthday. If your children is eligible for 2 1/2 year funding they can start the term before their third birthday.

The majority of children are entitled to 15 hours’ Nursery education per week over a mixture of mornings, afternoons and full days. We are also able to offer 30-hours free funding for those that are eligible.

If you are unsure, please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk to sign up and register for the additional funding. Once you have completed your application and it has been accepted by the HRMC, please bring your authorisation code to the school office.

The usual times for Nursery sessions are: Monday to Friday 8.45am - 11.40am and 12.20pm - 3.20pm

We also offer a complimentary lunch club every day, if your child is attending a full day. Please ask the Nursery Team for further details.

We also offer families the opportunity to pay for additional sessions should they require them. Please download the form below.

The Nursery is very much a play-driven environment, including both inside and outside activities. The children learn through having a great time painting, baking, singing, playing with sand and water, modelling, as well as computer activities, construction toys and story times, to name but a few things.

To apply for a place in Nursery, please contact the school office.

Admission to School

If, after visiting us, you decide that you would like your child to attend Ladywood Primary School, please contact the Admissions Department:

Website: www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions

Telephone: 01629 537479 or 01629 533190

Individual pupils who have a statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan, which names the school, will be admitted.

In deciding on admissions to all academies in Derbyshire, the following order of priority will be adopted:

1. Looked after children and children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order).

2. Children living in the normal area, served by the school at the time of application and admission, who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the time of the application and admission.

3. Children living in the normal area served by the school at the time of application and admission.

4. Children not living in the normal area served by the school but who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the time of application and admission.

5. Other children whose parents have requested a place.

When in the case of 2-5 above, choices have to be made between children satisfying the same criteria. Those children living nearest to the school (measured by straight line distance) will be given preference.

Our planned admission number each year is 44.
